The Mask

My life a living paradox

a face for all to see

A total fabrication of 

who lives inside of me...

An image crafted carefully

perfected over time

A stealthy preservation for

this tender heart of mine...

This dreadful insecurity

a mask that hides my fears

I've juggled two identities

for far too many years...

It's time for me to walk out from

behind the hidden veil

To let them see just who I am

and hope that I prevail.
