The Circle

Amazing how our paths have crossed

so late in life my friend

The Old Oak Tree

The old oak tree stands all alone

her leaves have long since gone

Soon the winter winds will blow

The many things I face each day

I look around and see the smiles

of people walking by

They live inside another world

in mine, I sit and cry...

The war still rages in my mind

with memories of my friends

At night I scream in agony

the battle never ends...
