Windows Of My Heart

I try to keep my heart in check

when ever you're around

I wanna tell you how I feel

so many fears abound...

I know that you can see inside

the windows of my heart

Every time you look at me

the curtains pull apart...

Crippled up Inside

Sitting near your resting place

a garden filled with tears

You've been asleep so very long

alone for many years...

A lifetime filled with loneliness

so crippled up inside

The flame that burned within my heart

extinguished when you died...

Waves of lovely golden hair

her blue eyes pierce my soul

Her smile ignites a raging fire

that quickly takes control...

A touch of sweet Moroccan oil

A quiet day in introspect

so much is on my mind

Sorting through the daily mail

and trying to unwind...

A glass of wine to smooth the edge

a walk out on the deck

Relaxing in my favorite chair

a moment to reflect...

Treading water day and night

and feeling so alone

Walking in an endless maze

within my comfort zone...

Holding onto memories

and living in the past

It's time to open up my heart

and free myself at last...

I think about what might have been

and where we both are now

The memories of those glory days

live on with me somehow...

The rose that blossomed in the Spring

the star that shone so bright...

It's nestled in a pleasant cove

my secret hideaway

A place where I can be alone

and contemplate the days...

A haven from a reckless world

brings solace to my mind

My getaway from city life

where friends are hard to find...

The water in the clear blue lake

reflects the giant trees

The mountain just behind the house

it blocks the winter breeze...

As years go by I realize

how precious life can be

A simpler way with peace of mind

the perfect choice for me...

they gently brush the shore

The breeze now constant in my face
