The Voice

Sometimes you have to walk away

move on from where you are

To cut the loses in your life

the heartaches and the scar...

Sometimes you have to just say no

when you have reached the end

To gather courage and declare

"I will no more pretend"...

Sometimes you have to be the one

that leaves it all behind

To open up and close the door

and find your peace of mind...

Sometimes you've heard the future call

it's called you for a while

The voice that's whispered in your heart

can't wait to see you smile...

Sometimes they come into our lives
and bring with them a smile
They help to fill an open space
that's been there quite a while...

A rescue from a sinking ship
sometimes we just exist
They help us find what we had lost
what we so long have missed...

A rain that falls upon the ground
so parched and cracked by drought
Our hearts begin to feel again
a flower starts to sprout...

A respite from our loneliness
from darkness we are drawn
Passions that once burned inside
return from where they'd gone...

The unexpected miracle
we hoped to one day see
The answer to a thousand prayers
we whispered silently...

The Ocean

How the ocean speaks to me

and soothes my heart and soul

For just an hour maybe two

the sounds I love console...

A peace that overshadows me

the breeze upon my face

Waves that lash the sandy shore

a calm I now embrace...

Looking out across the sea

the daylight in retreat

A painting by the hand of God

the sun and water meet...

Pretend

It's like I'm living in a dream

that never seems to end

To cope with all I face in life

sometimes I just pretend...

Mirror

The mirror that reflects my pain

no answers to be found

The image that looks back at me

it speaks without a sound...

Keep Hoping

I keep on hoping every day

some how we'll make it through

The reason I keep holding on

I'm still in love with you...
