Shadows

A screech that echoes from above

a bold and brazen cry

The shadows hide among the trees 

another soon will die...

Watching from their vantage point

a presence you can feel

These creatures from the darkness come

another soul to steal...

They only fear the ones who know

the voice of those awake

Their anger rages as they flee

"this one,  you will not take"...
