My respite from the loneliness
a flower in the spring
The promise of forever love
and all that it might bring...

A raging fire that roared at night
ablaze within the day
I fell in love with all my heart
then watched you walk away...

I should have followed after you
instead, I chose to stay
Somehow I thought that things would change
that you'd come back one day...

Alas the years have come and gone
and now we meet again
I wish that I could turn back time
that we could go back then...
