The raindrops gently falling now

a pause to this long day

Hypnotic sounds are luring me

to places far away...

A healing balm for this old soul

I soon begin to yawn

Its power now has captured me

to slumber, I am drawn...

My Little Paradise

It's nestled in a mountain range

and far from city lights

A place of gentle solitude

my little paradise...

Oasis from another life

where times slows down its pace

A haven from insanity

the madness of the race...

A simple place I now call home

surrounded by a stream

Moonbeams grace the sky at night

and laughter fills my dreams...

Where giant pine trees touch the sky

the mountains topped with snow

The forest hides its treasure trove

at night an afterglow...

Bucket List

I have so much I want to do

before I'm laid to rest

I want to take some time for me

complete my bucket list...

I want to shout from mountain tops

and sail on clear blue seas

To travel all around the world

and see the redwood trees...

My fear is that I'll wait too long

and then I cannot go

The years, they now go flying by

and aging takes its toll...

The time has come to set aside

the life I've come to know

Fulfill the dreams I put away

so many years ago...
