The band of seasoned orators

to conquer and be rich

If given ample time they'll see

success within their niche...

Hideaway

It's nestled in a scenic cove

my secret hideaway

A place I go to be alone

to contemplate and pray...

The water in the clear blue lake

reflects the giant trees

The mountain just behind the house

it blocks the winter breeze...

Sometimes I throw a stone or two

and watch them skip about

From time to time I'll cup my hands

and let out quite a shout...

Sometimes at night while on the porch

I'll look up at the sky

From time to time a falling star

the streak will catch my eye...

And when it's time to go to bed

I smile and close the door

Reflecting on the joys I found

tomorrow they'll be more...

I knew my world had changed

The way you smiled and looked at me
